Meet Georgette & RJ

Georgette and RJ have known each other since childhood and reconnected many years later. Music eventually became an important part of their life together, first through a wedding and corporate band and later through The Gette Duette.

The duo began as a way to perform favorite songs that didn’t always fit the typical event-band setlist. Their first Gette Duette performances included Murphy’s Steakhouse in Indianapolis and Adagio’s in Carmel.

Meet Georgette

Georgette grew up surrounded by music. Her mother was an opera singer, and Georgette participated in choirs and state singing competitions from an early age.

Her musical influences include Phoebe Snow, James Taylor and Stevie Wonder, with a particular love for soulful songs. Her performance history includes opening for Nancy Wilson and performing twice at Guantánamo Bay, Cuba.

Outside of music, Georgette enjoys jewelry making, crochet, painting and other creative projects.

Meet RJ

RJ began with classical piano training before expanding into pop, rock, soul and R&B. His instruments include piano, synthesizer and B3 organ.

His musical influences range from George Duke, Luther Vandross and Earth, Wind & Fire to Stevie Wonder, James Taylor, America and The Carpenters.

RJ has performed throughout the Midwest and beyond, including two trips to Guantánamo Bay. Outside music, he is also a published scientist, retired systems analyst and recording artist.

Together as The Gette Duette

Georgette’s soulful vocals and RJ’s keyboard-driven arrangements give The Gette Duette a sound that is different from the typical acoustic duo.

Their repertoire covers a wide range of artists, styles and eras, allowing them to tailor each performance to the audience and setting.

Together, their musical backgrounds include performances at venues and events such as the Indiana Roof Ballroom, Madame Walker Theatre, The Jazz Kitchen, the Indy 500 and Brickyard 400, along with audiences numbering in the thousands.
